⭐ The research paper titled ‘The increasingly dominant role of climate change on length of day variations’, featured in the journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

⭐ It revealed that the redistribution of water from Greenland and Antarctica is contributing to increased mass around the equator.

⭐ Though, this phenomenon will occur only when the melted water meets the ocean.

⭐ The study utilised observational techniques such as Very Long Baseline Interferometry, which measures the time difference in radio signals from space reaching different points on Earth, to determine variations in the planet's orientation and day length.

HSRP High-Security Registration Plate🌟:

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways introduced the High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) in 2001, and it has been a significant step towards ensuring security and safety on Indian roads. The HSRP plate is made up of special 1mm aluminium that is laminated with white or yellow reflective sheets.

What is HSRP?

The High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is a tamper-proof vehicle registration/number plate that is made up of aluminium, having a chromium-based hologram, hot-stamped alpha-numerals with retro-reflective sheet, and a laser-etched PIN (laser code). HSRP is now compulsory in India for all vehicles. According to a recent notification, there were around 4 million registered cars without HSRP before 2012 in Delhi alone.

HSRP Registration Procedure

Vehicle owners can register for their number plates through the official website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways or get them from authorized vendors in their respective states.

Benefits of HSRP

The availability of vehicle registration data will become easy for Enforcement Agencies, which will be helpful in traffic management. Details that are provided by the vehicle owner for HSRP registration include the engine number, model number, copy of valid insurance, and chassis number, among others. These plates are tamper-proof and make it quite easy for the vehicle owner to trace their vehicle in case it is stolen.

HSRP Registration Fees

The HSRP registration fee for two-wheelers is Rs. 400, while for four-wheelers, it is Rs. 1100. The fees for four-wheeler vehicles depend on the category of the vehicle.

The Indian Government has made HSRP mandatory for all Indian citizens. Along with HSRP, colour-coded stickers are also mandatory for vehicles having a windscreen.
