The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has recently notified a fifth Positive Indigenisation List (PIL) comprising defence items, aimed at boosting self-reliance and minimising imports and encouraging the domestic defence sector.

👉🏻 The PIL is a list of items that can only be purchased by the Indian armed forces from domestic manufacturers, including private sector or DPSUs.
👉🏻 98 more Defence Items worth more than ₹1,40,000 Cr be procured from indigenous sources.
👉🏻 Highly complex systems, sensors,
weapons and ammunition have
been included in the list.
👉🏻 This initiative is expected to stimulate economic growth, boost investment in defence, and reduce reliance on imports
👉🏻 This list also provides an excellent
opportunity for ‘Startups’ as also
MSMEs which will get tremendous
boost from this initiative and lead
to creation of a world class defence
industrial ecosystem in the
country.

Chandrayaan-3's successful landing near the lunar South Pole, has earned it the prestigious World Space Award from the International Astronautical Federation.
