The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has recently notified a fifth Positive Indigenisation List (PIL) comprising defence items, aimed at boosting self-reliance and minimising imports and encouraging the domestic defence sector.

๐๐ป The PIL is a list of items that can only be purchased by the Indian armed forces from domestic manufacturers, including private sector or DPSUs.
๐๐ป 98 more Defence Items worth more than โน1,40,000 Cr be procured from indigenous sources.
๐๐ป Highly complex systems, sensors,
weapons and ammunition have
been included in the list.
๐๐ป This initiative is expected to stimulate economic growth, boost investment in defence, and reduce reliance on imports
๐๐ป This list also provides an excellent
opportunity for โStartupsโ as also
MSMEs which will get tremendous
boost from this initiative and lead
to creation of a world class defence
industrial ecosystem in the
country.
