Why reforms are a must!
The rot of corruption within the IAS cadre runs deep, mocking the very principles of integrity and ethics taught in General Studies Paper 4 of the Civil Services mains Examination. Instead of internalizing these values, many IAS officers merely memorize and regurgitate them for marks, rendering the subject a hollow exercise. This results in a bureaucracy riddled with corruption which constantly betrays the public trust, siphoning billions in its personal coffers. This rampant corruption undermines the nation's progress and development, destroys public trust, and perpetuates inequality & this unethical cycle of rapacity. Stringent reforms are needed in the civil services system to urgently move beyond superficial learning and internalise the ethical standards they are supposed to uphold, and to form an efficient system which is transparent and accountable, not the the government but to the public whom it is supposed to serve.
