Jatayu: World’s 1st Asian King Vulture Conservation & Breeding Centre

βœ… Uttar Pradesh is set to establish the world’s 1st conservation and breeding centre for Asian king vultures or red-headed vultures in Maharajganj.
βœ… The facility will improve the population of critically endangered species listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s red list since 2007.
βœ… The centre is named Jatayu Conservation and Breeding Centre.
βœ… Asian king vultures are endangered due to the loss of their habitats and the excessive use of diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, in domestic animals, which becomes poisonous for vultures.
βœ… The centre aims to ensure the good health of growing Vultures and provide them with a pair.
βœ… Once a female lays an egg, the pair will be left free in their natural environment.

βœ…Those who are scoring around 85+ marks in prelims should start preparing for mains 2024.

🍷 Now, the question is, how to prepare for UPSC CSE mains 2024?

Before starting the preparation, I strongly recommend you go through this analysis. Here, you will realize that UPSC is framing questions from direct syllabus keywords. Sometimes, they interlink the keywords. For example, in GS1, the topic of society and women empowerment might be linked with GS3's climate change. They might ask a question in the GS3 paper like, "How will climate change impact the lives of women in rural areas?"

Additionally, they might link current affairs with syllabus keywords, such as asking how government or central sector schemes are improving the living standards of rural people and promoting financial inclusion and inclusive growth.

This analysis will help you understand the mains exam and score good marks within 2.5 months of preparation.
