Bangladesh to Import Hydro-Electricity from Bhutan
β Bangladesh Prime Minister and her Bhutanese counterpart met in New Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
β Bangladesh and Bhutan are keen to enhance their relations, especially in the energy sector.
β Bangladesh wants to import hydroelectricity from Bhutan through India and the matter has been discussed with India.
β This requires a tripartite agreement between the three countries. Both countries also expressed their interest in strengthening their ties in other areas as well.

β The two remote sensing payloads, namely the Solar UltraViolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) and the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC), along with other payloads, captured these images from the Lagrange point in space.
β The images released by ISRO clearly show magnetically active regions with large solar flares on the Sunβs surface. The solar emissions depict the relative brightness of sunspots, umbra, penumbra, and plages.

βοΈ On 7 June 2024, The Survey on Household Consumption Expenditure released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
Key Findings:-
βοΈ The average monthly per capita consumption expenditure (MPCE) in rural sector has risen more sharply by 40%, while the MPCE in urban sector has risen 33%
βοΈTable: Average Monthly Spending per Person (in 2011-12 prices)
βοΈ People in rural areas are spending more money, and this spending is growing faster than in urban areas.
βοΈ While city dwellers still spend more, the difference between rural and urban spending is shrinking.
βοΈThe difference between the urban and rural MPCE has fallen from 84 percent in 2011-12 to 75 percent in 2022-23, the survey on Household Consumption Expenditure: 2022-23 showed.
