Taking oath as parliamentarians is a constitutional mandate, even for those in prison.
1) Taking oath is a privilege, not a right: special permission, not bail.
2) Must inform Speaker of absence: To avoid losing their seat. Article101(4) of the constitution states if an MP is absent for over 60days from all the meetings without permission, then her/his seat would be declared vacant.
4) Court permission is needed for participation: To attend or vote in sessions.
Disqualification only for serious crimes: 2+ year sentence for conviction.
