🇺🇸🇨🇴 UPDATE | The explosive attack against the Cartagena Infantry Battalion in Riohacha, La Guajira, has left at least 12 soldiers wounded. The Army attributed the terrorist action to the ELN. The blast caused damage to the facility’s facade, bathrooms and dormitories, while explosive ordnance teams continue security inspections and search operations.

Catatumbo, Colombia 🇨🇴: FARC drone operator

Shown here is a guerrilla from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) who also happens to be a drone operator, a capability that has grown hugely over the last few years.

In slide 1, he can be seen whilst operating a drone. This is likely a DJI Matrice 300/350/400 series drone based on the use of a DJI RC Plus 2 controller.

The Colombian flag armband, commonly used by FARC, shows his affiliation to the Jorge Briceño Column (named after the FARC 2nd in command killed by the military in 2010). The armband also refers to the Magdalena Medio Block (BMM).

He can be seen again in slide 2 with the same RC Plus 2 controller. Slide 3 shows him armed with an AK pattern rifle, as a drone can be seen hovering in the distance. The resolution is not good enough for a definitive ID but it appears to be a DJI Matrice drone, consistent with the controller used.
