Bahia, Brazil 🇧🇷: Gang turning airsoft FN Scars into live firing weapons arrested
In Salvador, Bahia, an operation by the Civil Police last week busted a gang turning airsoft FN Scars into live firing 9mm SMGs. These weapons have been regularly popping up in Bahia in recent months, with multiple seizures (see previous post).
Operation Clandestine Forge located two properties used by the gang, one of which was the manufacturing site. Two suspects were arrested, one male and one female, with the tools, machinery and components used to manufacture the craft made weapons.
Now that we get a better look at the weapons, they are fairly crude homemade SMGs encased inside the body of an airsoft Vigor 8902A Scar-L. The suspects would order them online, with one purchasing 87 units, another ordering 30 units and a third suspect bought more than 50, as well as the components for the 9mm SMGs.
A homemade 12 gauge shotgun was also recovered, as well as two blocks of marijuana.

Gente del Guano (GDG) sicario seen using a manpack portable signal jammer
Shown here are several Gente del Guano sicarios, likely in or around Badiraguato, Sinaloa.
The sicario on the left is wearing a portable manpack signal jammer, with the directional antenna in his hand. Judging by the green light coming from the system it is likely switched on, and they can be seen looking upwards, possibly scouting for enemy (MZ) drones.

Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷: Same M249 spotted with members of the Red Command
Slide 1 was posted today by a member of the Red Command (CV), based in the Morro do Campinho neighbourhood. Multiple weapons are visible, but the star of the show here is the M249.
Judging by the sling, EOTech style optic and the magnifier, this is likely the same weapon seen months ago, being fired by a CV member who was later killed by the Civil Police.
Slide 2 shows Ygor Freitas, aka Matuê, who was a CV leader in Gardênia, firing at TCP rivals. The optics, colour and sling are all a match. The fact he is firing in semi automatic could suggest that this is an M249S, the civilian semi automatic version.
Matuê was killed back in October, alongside two of his men, during a firefight with the Civil Police. He was wanted in connection with the death of a Special Resources Coordination (CORE) officer, José Antônio Lourenço.
