The “Special Forces Union” between CJNG and the Sinaloa cartel

In late 2024, rumours of an alliance between the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa cartel and the CJNG circulated. Many initially denied the claims, but as more pictures and footage emerged, the allegations were confirmed.

The alliance was named the Fuerzas Especiales Union (FEU), joining forces against the Mayiza branch of the Sinaloa cartel. At some point, an AI generated logo surfaced (slide 4), which has since been adapted, used in narco mantas and hats.

FEU primarily operates in the state of Sinaloa. The two sicarios in slide 1 belong to the Chapitos faction, also known as La Chapiza, as shown by the 🍕 emoji. The text refers to brothers El 80 and El 81, also known as El Gabito and El Casco (helmet, as shown by the 🪖 emoji) respectively.

Slide 3 shows Chapitos sicarios who are part of the FEU somewhere in Sinaloa. They can be seen dressed in full tactical gear as seen by a drone operated by the passenger side sicario.

Rifle grenades in Rio de Janeiro

Slides 1 and 2 show members of the Red Command (CV), as can be seen by the ✌️hand symbols, during New Year’s celebrations. Other than the FALs, which are extremely common, the rifle grenades are immediately noticeable. They are definitely less frequently seen, but the gang members do have access to them.

Slide 2 shows a CV member from the same set with another FAL rifle, fitted with a rifle grenade. This picture went semi viral in RJ as people thought it was a Barrett .50 cal rifle.

Slide 3 shows a FAL with a rifle grenade and double welded magazine, possibly the same double mag rifle from slide 1.

Slide 4, from early 2025, shows CV members in the Novo Holanda (New Holland) area, one of whom is wielding another FAL with a rifle grenade which has a flame paint job.

Rifles from Brazil and C4 explosives from Colombia

In a letter filed today opposing bail for former CIA asset Robert Sensi, additional details were revealed about of the weaponry the conspirators offered to a DEA asset, posing as a CJNG member.

Slide 1 shows a WhatsApp conversation between the DEA asset (CS-1) and Robert Sensi (slide 2), who conspired to launder $12m of illicit cash for the CJNG with his partner Paul Campo (slide 3), a 25 year veteran of the DEA.

Sensi sent the DEA asset footage of weapons in Brazil, invoices and pictures of shipping containers, ready to be sold to who they believed was a CJNG member. The pair sought to source rifles, grenade launchers, RPGs and drones.

CS-1 indicated the drones would be fitted with explosives for use in Mexico. Sensi then attempted to set up a meeting in Curaçao (small Dutch island off the coast of Venezuela) between CS-1 and a member of an unnamed Colombian Foreign Terrorist Organisation (could be FARC, ELN or Clan del Golfo) to procure C4 explosives.

Sinaloa, Mexico: Wagner Group patch spotted after meth lab dismantled

A recent operation by the Mexican marines dismantled the operations of a clandestine meth lab in Cosalá, reportedly belonging to the Rugrats faction of the Mayo Zambada branch of the Sinaloa cartel.

7 cartel members were also arrested at a storage facility in Culiacán, where various weapons were recovered. Interestingly, one of the plate carriers had a patch from the Russian private military company, Wagner Group, which has only been seen a handful of times in Mexico. The Fightlite MCR upper next to it is also notable, which is very popular in Mexico, combining with an AR lower to form a belt fed weapon system.

In total, around 1000 Kg of methamphetamines were recovered, with another 500 Kg and hundreds of litres of various precursors still in the cooking stage.
