Costa Rica’s most wanted narco “Diablo” captured
An operation by the Special Tactical Response Service (SERT) of the Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Organisation (OIJ), captured Alejandro Arias Monge, aka Diablo, in Sarapiquí.
The operation began at 5am. Agents were engaged by suspects on the property, initiating a five hour long standoff which left five agents injured, one seriously.
At least five rifles were recovered, consisting of two AR platforms, two AK platforms and an FN FAL, all of which had jungle taped mags, as well as three pistols. Multiple drones were also reportedly recovered although no pictures were released.
The most interesting piece of gear recovered was a Chinese Vodasafe HL2 drone detector (slide 8). This model has been spotted multiple times with Mexican cartels and gangs in Brazil.
Diablo also has a $500k bounty from the US Dept. Of Justice, so an extradition is possibly on the cards. Two of his closest men were taken out, one of whom was arrested and the other killed.

Los Reyes, Michoacán: The weapons of a “Wicho Special Forces” improvised fighting position
It’s an older video but was recently reposted by a sicario and gives a good overview of the type of weapons used defensively.
Starting off, a Browning M1919 machine gun is visible, positioned on top of the sandbags. This is followed by a Chinese TeXin TX-XQ06 anti drone gun, one of the most commonly seen models with cartels in Mexico.
An FN Scar-H with an M203 40mm grenade launcher is seen alongside a .50 cal Barrett M82.
Up next is a legendary digital camouflaged Xiuhcoatl FX-05 rifle, produced by the Mexican military industry. This rifle was active for the better part of a decade with the Gente del R5. Once upon a time it had no less than EIGHT magazines clamped together.
A plate carrier can be seen with the FEW patch, showing their affiliations, followed by an AK platform rifle with a ProMag 50 round drum magazine.

The “SIG Sauer” FGC-9s popping up in Northeast Brazil 🇧🇷
In recent weeks, police throughout Northeast Brazil have recovered multiple 3D printed FGC-9s which are interestingly marked with a SIG Sauer logo. They also feature the same 3D printed magazines with a cover, likely coming from a single manufacturer.
Slide 1 was posted by a Red Command (CV 🚩) gang member killed by military police in Maragogi, state of Alagoas. The 19 year old suspected trafficker also happened to be the nephew of the mayor of Maragogi.
Slides 2 to 4 show three more of these SIG Sauer FGC-9s recovered by Civil Police in João Pessoa, state of Paraíba, along with other components and ammunition.
Just three days later, another partially assembled “SIG Sauer” FGC-9 was recovered, also in João Pessoa (slide 5).
The number of 3D printed weapons in circulation throughout Brazil has exploded in the last year. Multiple factories have been shut down by authorities but the flow of these weapons continues.
