Michoacán: Footage from a firefight between the GDR5 and CJNG
Shown here is footage recorded by a sicario from the Gente del R5 faction of the Carteles Unidos, likely in either the Los Reyes or Cotija municipality in Michoacán.
The sicario can be seen firing a mounted M240 from an up armoured technical, likely against rivals from CJNG. He even clears two stoppages before the belt of ammunition runs out.
Slide 2 was likely taken before the firefight. It gives a better look at the rotating turret, which features a metal shield to provide some ballistic protection for the gunner.
An AK pattern rifle can be seen to the side, along with some bottles of water.

Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷: M249 spotted with the Red Command 🚩
Another M249 has been seen with members of the Red Command (CV) somewhere in Rio de Janeiro, possibly the Penha complex.
It can be seen with “Chapo” painted on the box magazine, referring to trafficker Manoel Cinquine Pereira, aka Paulista da Penha.
This same inscription has been seen on other weapons, including homemade .50 cals used by members of Paulista’s security team (old post).
The M249 can be seen with a sling and what appears to be an EOTech optic. This is possibly the same semi automatic M249S that has been seen with CV previously, although it had different markings on the box magazine.
Another M249 has been seen with members of the Red Command (CV) somewhere in Rio de Janeiro, possibly the Penha complex.

LA ERA DE LOS DRONES FPV EN MEXICO HA COMENZADO.
Integrante del la facción Mz/Mf en el municipio de concordia Sinaloa, muestra un dron FPV con carga explosiva dirigido por medio de fibra óptica.
El dron pertenecía a la facción “CH”, pero en un intento de atacar a sicarios contrarios falló y posteriormente fue capturado por el enemigo.
Los drones FPV especialmente los que son controlados por medio de fibra óptica nacieron en la guerra de Ucrania ante la proliferación de sistemas de interrupción de señales (jammers).
En México los primeros intentos de su uso fueron documentados en octubre del 2025 por esta misma organización, pero durante los últimos 7 meses se ha visto un gran y peligroso crecimiento de su uso entre las organizaciones delictivas mexicanas.

En México se han registrado dos intentos de ataque con drones FPV DJI Avata, ambos sin éxito.
El primer incidente fue difundido en abril de 2025 por un integrante de Carteles Unidos en Michoacán.
El segundo se registró en septiembre de 2025 en el municipio de Zapotán, Michoacán.

Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷: 31° BPM in Vargem Grande recovered a rifle (featuring yellow tape for IFF purposes) and 5 grenades intended for drone strikes
The cut open plastic bottles with string are the most common drone delivery method for grenades in Brazil, allowing the pin to be pulled and lever still intact.
A payload release system for smaller DJI drones can be seen. The black bag and multi battery charger are from a DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit Plus.
Interestingly the drone itself and controller don’t seem to have been recovered.

Un detalle que llama la atención en el video es el humo que genera la explosión. Por sus características, podría sugerir la presencia de algún compuesto químico en la carga explosiva, aunque no es posible confirmarlo únicamente a partir de las imágenes.

Rio de Janeiro: Red Command 🚩drone attack against rival militiamen
Shown here is a video believed to be shot by members of the Red Command, as they target militiamen in Curicica.
An improvised explosive device can be seen dropped from a drone, piloted with a DJI RC Plus controller, causing injuries and damage to the vehicle seen.
This video is interesting for two reasons, firstly, the explosive is a different type than the usual homemade grenades (which are not very effective). It appears to be a plastic pipe bomb style device, consistent with explosives recovered recently in Curicica from a CV member (slide 3).
The second interesting part is the choice of controller, a DJI RC Plus, which is typically used for heavier DJI Matrice series drones, with an increased payload. This follows reports of criminal factions in RJ being taught to operate heavy duty drones by Brazilian veterans of the war in Ukraine.
