On August 27, Ethereum developers advanced EIP-8141 (Frame Transactions) to “planned for inclusion” status for the Hegotá upgrade, expected in 2027.

This means apps—or other accounts—could cover gas fees on your behalf. Services might accept stablecoins from users while settling network costs in ETH behind the scenes. It also opens the door for bundling multiple actions, where failed swaps automatically revoke token approvals.
