When using standard map APIs or drawing straight lines between buildings, the app gave inaccurate routes and weird detours because public maps don't know ASTU's internal walkways or shortcuts.
Drawing thousands of building-to-building routes by hand wasn't practical either.
So, I digitized the actual campus walkways once and auto-connected the building entrances to them. Now the app automatically calculates the exact walking path between any two locations. Compared to using Google Maps or hardcoding routes, this approach improved path accuracy, eliminated weird detours, and made the routing significantly faster and easier to maintain.
