🔸 1 мая — Праздник Весны и Труда

Символизирует уважение к труду и радость от прихода весны

Что принято делать?

📎 Устраивать шашлыки. Русские едут на дачи жарить мясо на углях

📎 Убирать дома или на огороде (дачный сезон стартует именно в мае)

📎 В некоторых городах проводятся демонстрации

🔸 9 мая — День Победы

Самый важный праздник в России. В 1945 году СССР победил нацистскую Германию. 9 мая — день памяти миллионов погибших и гордости за тех, кто выжил

May holds a special place in Russia. Two major public holidays are celebrated this month — both are official days off.

🔸 May 1 — Spring and Labour Day

It symbolises respect for work and the joy of spring’s arrival.

❗️ May 1 is a non-working day.

What do people usually do?

📎 Have barbecues. Russians head to their dachas to grill meat over charcoal.

📎 Clean their homes or work in the garden — the dacha season kicks off in May.

📎 Some cities hold parades or demonstrations.

🔸 May 9 — Victory Day

The most important holiday in Russia. In 1945, the USSR defeated Nazi Germany. May 9 is a day to remember the millions who perished and to feel pride for those who survived.

❗️ May 9–11 are non-working days.

What do people usually do?

📎 Watch the Victory Parade.

📎 Take part in the march — people carry portraits of their veteran relatives.

📎 Lay flowers at the Eternal Flame or war memorials.

Mai a une signification particulière en Russie. Ce mois-ci, on célèbre deux grandes fêtes nationales, toutes deux officiellement chômées.

🔸 1er mai – La fête du Printemps et du Travail

Elle symbolise le respect du travail et la joie de l’arrivée du printemps.

❗️ Le 1er mai est un jour chômé.

Ce que l’on fait habituellement :

📎 On fait des barbecues. Les Russes vont à la datcha pour griller de la viande sur des braises.

📎 On nettoie la maison ou le potager (la saison des datchas commence justement en mai).

📎 Dans certaines villes, des manifestations ont lieu.

🔸 9 mai – Le jour de la Victoire

La fête la plus importante en Russie. En 1945, l’URSS a vaincu l’Allemagne nazie. Le 9 mai est un jour de mémoire pour les millions de morts et de fierté pour ceux qui ont survécu.

❗️ Les 9, 10 et 11 mai sont chômés.

Ce que l’on fait habituellement :

📎 On regarde le défilé de la Victoire.

📎 On participe à la marche du « Régiment immortel » – les gens défilent avec des portraits de leurs proches anciens combattants.

📎 On dépose des fleurs à la Flamme éternelle ou sur les monuments.

В состав вошли более 200 иностранных студентов. Ребята обсудили план дальнейшей работы с проректором по международным отношениям ДВФУ Евгением Власовым

Документы о владении базовым уровнем А1 получили ученики, которые с сентября прошлого года посещали занятия от СПбГУ в Культурном центре России в крупнейшем городе Экваториальной Гвинеи

📌 Студенты изучили алфавит, основы грамматики, освоили минимальный словарный запас и простые разговорные конструкции для повседневного общения

❗️ Следующим шагом для желающих продолжить обучение станет достижение уровня В1, который дает возможность претендовать на бесплатное обучение в СПбГУ

In Malabo, 15 students received certificates for completing Russian language courses

The certificates for basic level A1 proficiency were received by students who had been attending classes from SPbSU at the Russian Cultural Center in the largest city of Equatorial Guinea since September last year.

The students learned the alphabet, grammar basics, acquired a minimum vocabulary and simple conversational structures for everyday communication.

The next step for those wishing to continue their studies will be to reach level B1, which gives them the opportunity to apply for free education at SPbSU.

Les documents attestant du niveau élémentaire A1 ont été remis aux élèves qui, depuis septembre dernier, ont suivi les cours organisés par l’Université d’État de Saint-Pétersbourg (SPbGU) au Centre culturel russe de la plus grande ville de Guinée équatoriale.

Les étudiants ont étudié l’alphabet, les bases de la grammaire, ont acquis un vocabulaire minimal ainsi que des structures conversationnelles simples pour la communication quotidienne.

La prochaine étape pour ceux qui souhaitent poursuivre leur apprentissage sera l’obtention du niveau B1, qui permet de prétendre à une formation gratuite à l’Université d’État de Saint-Pétersbourg.

⚡️ A graduate of the “New Generation” program has been appointed Minister of Youth of the Republic of Congo

After taking part in the Rossotrudnichestvo program in 2021, Prince Mikhrist Kaba Mvoko became Executive Secretary of the Presidential Youth Council, and has now been given an important government position. His parents are graduates of Soviet universities. He is one of the youngest ministers in the Republic.

Prince Mikhrist Kaba Mvoko actively supports the Russian House in Brazzaville in organizing major joint events, including the World Youth Festival.

Did you know that there is a place in Africa named after a Russian poet?

In the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, there is Pushkin Square. It received its name in 2000. According to the most widely accepted version, the roots of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin’s ancestors trace back to the north of modern-day Ethiopia.

In 2002, a historic event for the entire continent took place in the square — the grand unveiling of the first monument to Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin in Africa. During the ceremony, the poet’s verses were recited in both Russian and Amharic.

Pushkin Square in Addis Ababa remains one of the symbols of the deep cultural and historical connection that has united Russia and Ethiopia for centuries.

Savez-vous qu’en Afrique, il existe un lieu qui porte le nom d’un poète russe ?

Dans la capitale de l’Éthiopie, Addis-Abeba, se trouve la place Pouchkine. Elle a reçu ce nom en l’an 2000. Selon la version la plus répandue, les origines des ancêtres d’Alexandre Sergueïevitch Pouchkine remonteraient au nord de l’Éthiopie actuelle.
