Our esteemed Sheikh, may Allฤh bless you, [the questioner] asks whether loving a disbeliever for their good character, skill in playing, or the excellence of their inventions falls under the prohibited allegiance to disbelievers?
Sheikh Salih Al-Luhaidan rahimahullah:
Without a doubt! As long as a disbeliever is an enemy of Allฤh, how can one admire their traits?! Rather, one should wish they were Muslim. Their charm, agility, or creativity should not overshadow their enmity toward Islam. Allฤh Almighty says (interpreted meaning) "And the Jews and the Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their religion" [Al-Baqarah 2:120].
Do not hold a good opinion of them; rather, present Islam to them. When you invite them to Islam, you will find that soft character changes.
