Thomas Vaughan’s Works (under the name Eugenius Philalethes) fuse Christian mysticism, alchemy, and Rosicrucian thought, presenting alchemy as a spiritual path of purification rather than mere chemistry. Texts like Anthroposophia Theomagica, Magia Adamica, and Lumen de Lumine explore divine magic, primordial wisdom, and illumination, while Vaughan’s polemical style defends Hermetic philosophy against critics. Arthur Edward Waite’s 1919 edition preserved these writings, framing Vaughan as a fiery and original voice in 17th‑century Hermeticism.
