KEFI Gold and Copper plc has suspended development activities at its #Tulu_Kapi Gold Project in #Ethiopia following a serious security incident that left multiple security personnel and community members dead, including one company employee.
In an update issued on 7 September, the #UK-listed gold and copper developer said the incident occurred on Friday, 4 September. The company said it was “deeply saddened” by the loss of life and extended condolences to those affected.

Médecins Sans Frontières (#MSF) has warned that widespread international aid cuts are forcing health facilities across Sudan to close, leaving millions of people with increasingly limited access to life-saving healthcare amid the country’s ongoing war and humanitarian crisis.
In a statement, MSF said hundreds of clinics are closing, hospitals are losing capacity and medicines are becoming increasingly scarce. Sudan has more than 33 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, while the #UN’s $2.87 billion humanitarian response plan is only about 41% funded.
The organisation said attacks on healthcare are further worsening the crisis. In 2025, 1,620 people were killed in attacks on medical facilities in Sudan, accounting for 82% of all deaths globally from attacks on healthcare, according to MSF.
