The World Bank said on Tuesday that it had approved $750 million in budget support for Kenya to support reforms aimed at strengthening governance, public financial management and social protection for vulnerable citizens.
The funding is known as a Development Policy Operation (#DPO).
It will come in the form of a $340 million International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loan and $410 million in highly concessional International Development Association funding, the World Bank said in a statement.

Akobo Minerals, the #Scandinavian-based #Ethiopian #gold_exploration and boutique mining company, says it recorded its strongest operational quarter to date in the first quarter of 2026, producing approximately 23 kilograms of gold and reporting revenues of about USD 3.5 million, according to a company statement sent to Addis Standard.
The company said preliminary management accounts showed #EBITDA of approximately USD 1.5 million, while cash holdings at the end of the quarter stood at about USD 2.3 million. Akobo attributed the improved financial performance to higher production levels and favorable international gold prices, adding that it expects the second quarter to be “significantly stronger” based on current production trends.
