The fire broke out just after midnight at Utumishi girls academy in Gilgil, Nakuru county, about 76 miles north-west of Nairobi, police said.

Addis Abeba - Ethiopia has expanded the Modjo Dry Port with support from the World Bank as part of efforts to ease logistics bottlenecks, increase cargo-handling capacity, and improve trade flows along the #Ethiopia–#Djibouti corridor.
The project includes new container yards, expanded warehousing facilities, improved cargo-handling infrastructure, and digital systems aimed at reducing delays and improving operational efficiency.
According to the World Bank, the expansion is designed to help Modjo process growing trade volumes more efficiently while strengthening links between road and rail transport. The port, which handles the vast majority of Ethiopia’s imports and exports, has long faced congestion and high logistics costs that affected businesses and supply chains.
