The company’s first phase includes a USD 7.47 billion renewable energy project with a planned generation capacity of 8.4 gigawatts, combining 5.4 GW of wind power and 2.8 GW of solar energy in the South Omo, Afar, and Somali regions.
The EIC said the company has since expanded its planned investment by an additional USD 4.1 billion. In the second phase, Ming Yang will invest USD 7.3 billion in green ammonia production and the manufacturing of electric transmission and wind turbine equipment.
