The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus has condemned what it said was indiscriminate killing by armed group of its members at Muleta Gela congregation, in Galo kebele of East Wollega Zone in Oromia Regional state.
More than a dozen members of the church including leaders and servants were also killed by a drone strike in Medni town, West Wollega.
Furthermore, the church has expressed its dismay on government security forces who it accused of neither preventing the tragedy nor investigating it to bring the culprits to justice.

#Ethiopia's Deputy Chief Justice appointed as half-time judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal
Solomon Areda Waktolla, Deputy Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia has been appointed as a half-time judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal for the term 2023-2030 by the United Nations General Assembly’s 34th plenary meeting at the elections held on the 15th of November 2022 in New York, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) is the court of first instance in the internal justice system of the United Nations and is composed of three full-time Judges and six half-time Judges all of whom have a seven-year term,," MoFA said,adding that Deputy Chief Justice Solomn is an "accomplished judge and jurist with over twenty five (25) years of legal and judicial work experience both at national and international levels."

A test-flight by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) landed in Shire today. It is the first humanitarian flight in two years since the war erupted in November 2020, ICRC said.
"The resuming of airlifts to #Tigray will help carry urgent humanitarian aid to the region more quickly, to alleviate the suffering of thousands needing immediate support," ICRC further said.
This comes a day after two trucks full of vital medical supplies arrived in Mekelle on Tuesday in the first aid delivery since fighting resumed on 24 August and the Pretoria and Nairobi agreements were signed.

He was arrested on May 26 on suspicion of “inciting riots and creating public mistrust on the Ethiopian National Defense Forces and the government.”

Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide, and Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Eyob Tekalign, delivered a statement regarding the partial privatization of Ethio Telecom.
In their statement, the officials revealed that a tender has been issued from Wednesday 16 November to identify the international company engaged in the telecom sector.
They also stated that a tender will be issued to transfer 40 percent of Ethio Telecom to the private sector and to give a license to a third telecommunication company in Ethiopia.

According to the public prosecution service, those put to death are a woman from Ethiopia and another from Kuwait, a Syrian and a Pakistani man, and three Kuwaiti men.

In a statement announcing the establishment of the committee, Prime Minister Abiy said, “corruption is a pest that eats a country from the inside and depletes its resources by consuming it day and night. When corrupted authorities, greedy brokers and investors come together having large number of citizens lined up behind them, corruption becomes an epidemic to a country.”
The statement said a study is being carried out investigating government officials, public servants, bribers and recipients. CEO of Safaricom Ethiopia Anwar Soussa told The Reporter that “people are excited” and about 20,000 people daily subscribing to the telco’s network.
Safaricom Ethiopia subscribers who spoke to #AddisStandard say they were eagerly waiting for the launch of the “07” network, since the news of opening up of the telecom sector was first announced in 2019.
“I choose Safaricom for its fast internet and for the fact that it works outside of Ethiopia as an international company. The NORD VIND, a ship carrying Ukrainian wheat for Ethiopia, is moving along a “grain corridor” as part of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, according to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine said this in a post on Facebook.
“GrainFromUkraine: the NORD VIND ship with 27,000 tonnes of wheat from Ukraine for Ethiopia is moving along a ‘grain corridor’,” the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine said.
In September, Ukraine’s Cabinet Ministry announced that Ukraine will reimburse Ethiopia and Somalia for $11.4 million worth of wheat. This was confirmed in a speech President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the General Debate of the 77th session of the UN.

#Kenya: Ruto applauds end to hostility in #Ethiopia
President William Ruto has applauded declaration by Government of Ethiopia and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front on the modalities for implementation of peace agreement in Northern Ethiopia made last week.
Ruto commended the leadership of both sides for committing to cessation of hostilities and pledging continuous support.

“We have made clear to the leaders of the Ethiopian government that full implementation of the agreement reached in Pretoria and elaborated in Nairobi is essential to restore the partnerships that we previously enjoyed,” she said.
With regard to the withdrawal of foreign forces, assistant secretary Phee said that it is part of the agreement and that the US is committed to additional sanctions on Eritrea if they [#Eritrean leaders] fail to pull out their troops from Ethiopia. “I concur with your assessment of the negative role of Eritrea in Ethiopia; I think it is a positive development that as part of the this discussion the issue foreign is part of the agreement and the withdrawal of foreign forces…”
