Even if she did say it, do we really know she meant it mockingly? Some people just have the ideas and circumstances they grew up with. It's like blaming a little kid with nazi parents for being racist.

I can see that as somewhat fair, but she wasn't a kid. She was an adult who had contact with servants in her castle and if she cared enough she could have been familiar with their struggle. Still I'm not blaming her for the outbreak of rage, because she did have a sheltered life and she had ZERO political power. She just threw parties for her rich friends.Also can we just take a moment to say that the people who actually had power and authority were the King and the noblemen, and they drove the working class French poverty, yet for some reason we ,a.k.a pop culture, blame the crash of a whole society on a girl who partied, and could not do much for the people even if she cared. There is some sort of misogyny at play here.

Goodnight to one man and one man only, and that man is the really really old guy who asked me if it was alright to sit next to me in the Government building today. He did not have to do that. I could see that there was one spot left, and that he was old, but he saw a young girl alone trying get her work done in a male dominated environment, and did not want to make her uncomfortable. I appreciate him. Also, the bar is to the floor.
