❓ Who is Adam Back ❓

I am a British cryptographer, computer scientist, and one of the early pioneers of the cypherpunk movement, the community that helped lay the foundations for Bitcoin and decentralized digital money.

For more than 25 years, my work has focused on cryptography, privacy technologies, distributed systems, and the development of open, resilient financial infrastructure.

📌 In 1997, I invented Hashcash, the proof-of-work system that later became a fundamental component of Bitcoin. Hashcash was directly referenced by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin whitepaper.

📌 I actively participated in early cypherpunk discussions surrounding digital cash, cryptographic systems, and decentralized networks, many of which influenced the ideas that ultimately shaped Bitcoin.

📌 Since 2014, I have served as Co-Founder and CEO of Blockstream. Our work focuses on building critical Bitcoin infrastructure, including the Liquid Network, Bitcoin Satellite, mining technologies, and institutional-grade solutions.

I remain committed to the principles that inspired Bitcoin from the beginning: financial sovereignty, censorship resistance, and open-source innovation.

In addition to my technical work, I have spent years studying market structure, liquidity dynamics, order flow, and capital allocation across digital asset markets.
