"Famous Greek poets such as Homer and Pindar described athletic competitions and praised the victorious athletes. In the archaic period, members of the Greek aristocracy trained their physical ability and proved it in military campaigns, in hunting and during athletic events. In the classical period, this aristocratic ideal was adopted also by common citizens. Both aesthetic and ethical aspects are expressed in the ideal of kalokagathia ("excellence"): a man was to be kalos kai agathos ("beautiful and good"), equally striving towards physical perfection and intellectual and moral education."

Regional delegates from across the country, along with select members of Caledonia Club, met for a National gathering at an undisclosed location in Yorkshire.
Over the course of the weekend attendees participated in a variety of seminars, listened to speeches, and participated in a powerlifting competition. PBs were set and new friendships were kindled.
