The most important points from the speech of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, delivered in New York while leading the Iraqi delegation to the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly meetings:

🔵 We reaffirm Iraq's commitment to the United Nations Charter and its principles, and we present to you Iraq's vision for its future, its region, and the world at this delicate stage.

🔵 We speak with full confidence about our vision for the future, in which Iraq plays its role and exerts its influence, as an active economic force in the region and a bridge for dialogue and cooperation among its peoples.

🔵 Our vision at this stage stems from our national will to restore the prestige of the law, strengthen state institutions, and solidify citizens' trust in them.
 
🔵 Our governing priorities are that the state must be the decision-maker in peace and war, and that arms and instruments of power remain in the hands of its constitutional institutions.

🔵 Our executive measures are based on the law and the national interest in building a state of institutions, protecting sovereignty, consolidating stability, and preparing the necessary environment for development and investment.
 
🔵 With the conclusion of the international coalition's mission in Iraq, we are transitioning our relationship with our strategic partners from military cooperation to economic and developmental cooperation, in service of our shared interests.

🔵 Our steps add determination and renewed momentum to the Iraqis' victory over terrorism, to complete the building of our security and military capabilities in protecting our land, people, and sovereignty.

🔵 For the sustainability of integration with our international friends, we call on all to control borders, address gaps, and maintain constant vigilance to prevent the formation of an environment conducive to extremism.

🔵 Our government is waging a battle against corruption and protecting public funds, and we are advancing along the path of reforms with substantive, sustainable solutions to enhance performance efficiency and improve services.
 
🔵 Our goal is to build a strong state and a diverse, modern economy that aligns with global technological and digital transformations.

🔵 We are working to harness all successful expertise and innovative experiences in the world of economy, finance, and business for the renaissance of Iraq's economic and financial reforms.

🔵 Our vision for providing a safe environment for national and foreign investment is based on the major assets that Iraq possesses in resources and investment opportunities, in addition to its exceptional geographical location that links the Iraqi economy to the world.

🔵 We seek for Iraq to be a productive, active partner in the region through a gradual reduction in the effects of the rentier economy, strengthening open-market policies, and developing productive, export, and investment potentials.
 
🔵 We have laid out an appropriate roadmap toward supporting the private sector and providing the necessary legal, tax, and customs facilitations and guarantees for business and foreign trade growth, and building effective partnerships.

🔵 Our government has adopted an ambitious program in the energy sector to increase crude oil production and develop gas fields, and to expand refining capacities and the production of derivatives and petrochemical industries.

🔵 Our ambition is for Iraq to be a global center for energy production, and to leverage its potentials to enhance regional and international security and stability in a sustainable manner.

🔵 We view with concern the repercussions associated with freedom of navigation and maritime shipping, and the crisis it has caused in the global rise in energy prices.
 
🔵 We are working to diversify our oil export outlets, and to develop energy lines and their connecting corridors between Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, and Syria, reaching global markets, with the aim of contributing to energy security and diversifying supply routes.

🔵 Our government has placed the goal of enhancing economic and industrial development in all fields at the top of its priorities, and economic diversification based on genuine partnerships is a central strategic objective in our policy.
 
🔵 The Development Road project is Iraq's comprehensive vision for regional integration, integration, and stability, and an important gateway and strategic corridor for trade, investment, industry, and energy that connects East to West.
 
🔵 We want the Development Road project to be open for partnership with all our neighbors and friends, because we believe that economic interests create prosperity.
