Here is a sneak peek at what we built for our final year project: blockchain-based, because we built it on Stellar. Sharia-compliant—we tried to avoid riba al-nasi'ah that comes due to delay. Throughout the journey, I have learned that startups and banks are working on it. From the well-known banks I know, Abyssinia and CooP have already launched an app months ago. Even while doing the research, most of the articles and conferences on the internet were from recent years, if not months. This shows that the business is just starting and the fintech industry with blockchain is growing in Ethiopia.
