I don't know about Hubstaff specifically, but in general, I hate trackers for several reasons. First, I would like to work at any time, such as two hours on Monday and sixteen hours on Sunday. I want this flexibility, but if there is a tracker, the client could see how many hours I am dedicating per day and flag me in red. A second reason is that it would take screenshots, so if I want to do multiple jobs at the same time, it would be hard to do so. A third reason is that some clients pay you hourly. So, if a task that was supposed to take eight hours took only three hours because you have done the same thing before or you used AI, it would be a disadvantage because now you would have to do another task just to fill the hours. I can continue, but this is enough. Yeah, so according to me, I hate it because it highlights my laziness.

I hope by "remote jobs" you mean jobs abroad. It doesn't require anything except not giving up. Be active on LinkedIn; that's where I mostly source my jobs. Apply to as many as possible. Take a look at the tips and suggestions given at the MDC meetup last time; scroll up a bit, and you will find it. I applied to over 100 jobs and only landed three or four. I can show you my LinkedIn if you don't believe it. So, yeah, never give up.

For those of you who are not aware, this is about the issue that happened at AAU. The niqab/veils that girls wear to cover their faces/ were prohibited by AAU officials. This issue has been going on for the past 18+ months.

At the moment, it has been allowed, but a permanent solution has not yet been put in place. We are still asking for a final and lasting solution so that our sisters will not have to go through the same issue again next year, just as they have over the past two years.

don't underestimate yourself. It's not to say I know more, but for example, I could have applied for A2SV earlier than I did, but I didn't because I thought I had to do more problems. I started Upwork when I was in my mid-fourth year. I could have started earlier, but I thought I wasn't ready. All I wanted to say is that there is nothing you would lose by starting early. Just go for it, learn from it, and try again.

I mostly do software development, backend intensive. But I also do AI automations like n8n (I actually did only one project on that).

I think it's been a year and some months since I've been on Upwork.

About getting a rating on Upwork, it depends. It might not work for everyone. My friend got his Upwork rating and found a job after that. I have other classmates that never did the rating but still got jobs, now making six figures a month.

I am seeing more questions on Upwork. Maybe I will do one long post if you are all interested. There are many other better people who should talk about Upwork if you only have, but I could talk about my small experience as well.
