Wappuvaihto 24.4.🎡

Wapun lähetessä on taas aika lähteä perinteiseen Wappuvaihtoon Hervantaan kokemaan, mitä tamperelaiset kollegamme wapun alla tekevät. Ohjelmassa muun muassa Särkän märkä🎢, kampuskierros sekä tietysti jatkot!🕺🏻Lystihän kustantaa 45€ ja sisältää bussikyydit molempiin suuntiin sekä kaikki Tampereen spektaakkelit.

Päivän reissuun lähdetään klo 10 Otaniemestä, ja kotiin palataan yön pikkutunneilla. Tätä tilaisuutta et halua missata, matkaan mahtuu vain 48 nopeinta ilmoittautujaa!

Wappu Exchange 24.4.🎡

When Wappu becomes closer it's once again time to go to Hervanta to experience what our colleagues in Tampere are doing in the run-up to wappu.🕺🏻The programme includes the Särkän märkä event🎢, a campus tour and of course the afterparty! The cost is a 45 € and includes bus fares in both directions and all the spectacles of Tampere.

The day starts at 10 am from Otaniemi, and we return home in the small hours of the night. You won't want to miss this opportunity, as there is only room for the 48 fastest registrants!

Sitsikisat on täällä taas!

Sitsikilpailut on koko Otaniemelle järjestettävä tapahtuma, jossa erikokoiset joukkueet saapuvat Alvarin aukiolle ja kasaavat nurmikolle omat sitsit.

Sitsikisoissa on perinteisesti nähty mitä mielikuvituksellisempia teemasitsejä ja luovia toteutuksia niin sitsiasuissa, lauluissa, tarjoilussa, kuin koristelussakin. Omaperäisimmät ja kekseliäimmät sitsijoukkueet palkitaankin Wappuaattona 30.4. Wappuriehan julistuksessa!

Kerää siis itsesi sekä kaverisi ja saavu 22.4. Alvarin aukiolle esittelemään juuri teidännäköiset huikeat sitsit! Itse kilpailu alkaa klo 14 ja jatkuu niin kauan, kuin joukkueilla kestävyyttä riittää tai jatkot kutsuvat. Jatkoja vietetään klo 18 eteenpäin Rantasaunalla. Otathan pyyhkeen mukaan, mikäli mielit saunoa tai paljuilla.
Ilmoittautuminen aukeaa 9.4. klo 12 ja on auki 18.4. 23:59 asti kideappissa.

The sun is shining and the traditional Sitsi competition is here again!

The Sitsi competition is an Otaniemi-wide event where teams of all sizes come together in Alvari's Square to make their own sitsit. Teams bring everything they need themselves, including any chairs, tables, food, drinks and good vibes!

The most original and creative sitsi teams will be rewarded on 30 April at the Wappurieha declaration.
So, get your own team together and come to Alvari's Square on 22 April to show off your highest-quality sitsi skills! The competition will start at 14:00 and will continue as long as the teams want before the afterparty. The afterparty is from 18 onwards at Rantasauna.

Registration is open until 18.4. 23:59 at kideapp.
Remember, the most important thing in this competition is to put in a relaxed effort and to leave Alvari clean!

In honour of Students’ Mental Health Week, Aava’s Sports and Wellbeing Committee invites all Aalto students to the wellbeing event at Alvarin Aukio Square on 11 Apr from 11:00 to 14:00.
The event features alpacas, Starting Point of Wellbeing and Oasis of Radical Wellbeing, as well as TEK, doughnuts, mead, and running bungee. Also, cuddly dogs are present part of the time.

Would you like to kickstart your Wappu? Are you a bit stiff after the long and cold winter? The Masters’ committee of Aava offers help for aching joints and raises the Wappu spirit with Wappumile and Senior Wappu Sauna on April 24th!

In Wappumile teams of three will race the distance of one mile (about 1609 m) while enjoying some refreshments on the way. The afterparty is at Rantasauna, where we get to enjoy the warmth of the sauna and anoint our winter-weary limbs in the waves of the hot tub. Some snacks and mead will be available. For those who complete the mile and finish their drinks fastest, there will be a prize, fame and glory 🏆

The registration fee for teams is 15€, which covers all needed equipment, access to the afterparty and the event badge.

The gift giving takes place on 18.5. at 14.30-16.30, the afterparty on 18.5. at 22-02, and Sillis on 19.5. at 12-18. 🥳

The volunteers' tasks include helping with decorations, the cloakroom, and preparing snacks. And best of all, you can still enjoy the event while volunteering! 🤩

Dear members of the Aalto community,

The AYY14 anniversary week is celebrated from 13 to 19 May, and the main celebration will take place on Saturday, 18 May 2024 at Valkosaaren telakka. All members of the community are warmly welcome to attend, regardless of the year or field of studies!

The price of the main celebration is €89 for AYY student members and €120 for alumni and others. Registration opens 16.4.2024 at 18.00 and closes 3.5.2024 at 14.00.

The banks of Aurajoki, along with its riverboats, invites all landlubbers and
barnacle-backs to pursue the world's only river-worthy overall badge! On Thursday,
May 16th, AYY's Community Section Aava and KY's Cultural Subcommittee KUJ
head towards Turku, where the traditional Akateeminen Aurajokilaivuritutkinto
(AATU) is held. The rumor has it that during this pub crawl, the bravest sailors can
complete Captain's degree in one single evening.
