Huge factory fire in Derrimut, Victoria, Australia today.

The fire was sparked by a large chemical explosion at a factory in Melbourne's west & hazardous materials & unknown toxins continue to burn.

Fire Rescue Victoria responded to the significant factory fire, now under control, but it is expected to burn for days, causing concern over fumes and contaminated runoff as the fire still smolders in Melbourne.

Chemical drums fly into air as massive factory fire triggers explosions in Australia

The large-scale blaze resulted in highways, roads and, other factories being closed in the state of Victoria, officials said Wednesday.

The fire in the factory erupted in Derrimut area of Melbourne - where hazardous material and unknown toxins continue to burn, ABC News reported.

Some 180 firefighters and 66 vehicles were immediately deployed to control the fire, however one official said "it's still burning.
