For y'all who want to change the department you're placed in:
In a few hours, I’ll explain the process and how to submit your complaint to the school/college registrar. If you’re currently at home, please come on Sunday and submit your complaint letter on Monday morning when the office opens.
I know many of you are anxious and in urge, but please stay calm!
CALM DOWN!
Tonight, I’ll ask you to send your request in our group, and I’ll post it here so you can connect with others who are interested in swapping departments.
Stay tuned!

For Second-Year Engineering Students Who Want to Change Their Department:
Here’s what you need to know and how the process works:
1. Find a Swap Partner: First, identify a fellow student who is willing to swap departments with you. This can be arranged through any means, whether by agreement or mutual understanding. This is the initial step.
2. Write a Formal Letter: Draft a formal letter addressed to the school head office. Look up the format for letters intended for educational institutions like ASTU. It's advisable to write the letter by hand, as there are rumors that typed or printed letters may not be accepted. Ensure your letter is polite, clear, and flows smoothly.
3. Include a Convincing Reason: Clearly state the reason for your request to swap departments. A strong justification is essential; otherwise, your request may be declined.
4. Submit the Letter: Deliver your letter to the school/college head office. Hand it to the head's secretary or another staff member. If you’re unsure where to go, ask someone at the office for guidance.
5. Clarify the Subject: In the subject line of your letter, specify your current department and the department you wish to change to.
6. Be Concise: Keep your letter brief and to the point. Avoid lengthy explanations, as they may lead to your letter being disregarded.
7. Understand the Swap Requirement: Ensure that your request is for a swap, not just a transfer. If the department you wish to join is at full capacity, having a swap partner is crucial. For example, if you're in SE or CSE, these departments are often full, while ECE and EPCE may have openings. If you want to switch from SE/CSE to ECE or EPCE, approval is likely even without a swap partner. Conversely, if you wish to move from ECE/EPCE to SE/CSE without a swap partner, your request may be declined.
8. Signatures and Names: Don’t forget to include both your names, signatures, and ID numbers at the end of the letter.
9. Clearly State Your Intentions: The letter should explicitly describe the reasons for both students involved in the swap—why Student A wants to change departments and why Student B wants to move to Student A's current department.
10. Oral Explanation (if possible): If you have the opportunity (though it may be rare), politely explain your reasons in person to the head or dean.
Final Notes:
◆ Submitting your letter does not guarantee acceptance of your request, but it does provide a chance for consideration.
◆ Decisions are made by the school/college board, who will review requests collectively and approve or decline them based on their criteria.
◆ If you want to change your department and submit a request letter just for trying, try to come tomorrow, Sunday, write the letter, and submit it Monday morning as soon as the office opens. But if you're making excuses for this, you're deciding for yourself! Procrastination will only hinder your chances! Take care!
The process is actually azZza😮💨, but if you succeed, it's worth it. If you don't succeed, you tried your best, so just move on with your life!
Good luck!
