The day Bahar Heidarzadeh (Born 1981, Tehran) left Iran for what would have been the last time, she wore a warm-toned hijab, a sign of hope for the future that awaited her. Once she reached European soil, she discovered her face, her shoulders and her hair, finally feeling free. Today that hijab, never worn again, is the protagonist of "l like you, you like me", a photographic series created with the aim of bringing Western society closer to the Muslim female condition. Bahar shot over 50 polaroids, inviting women, men and children to wear hijab: however, people were asked to wear it backwards, leaving the shoulders and hair uncovered and instead covering the face: an overturning of perspective, but also a sense of disquiet and a cry of alarm to denounce the female individual identity that day after day is silently erased.
