🇺🇳 On June 6, members of the UN General Assembly elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2024-2025.
Following the vote, Algeria 🇩🇿, Guyana 🇬🇾, the Republic of Korea 🇰🇷, Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 and Slovenia 🇸🇮 will sit on the UN Security Council during the upcoming period.
We hope that during their work at this key body of the UN system the newly elected members will facilitate the long-term resolution of the most important crises of our time, help strengthen the central coordinating role of the UN in global affairs, as well as make the Organisation more effective, and contribute to the formation of a truly equitable multipolar world order based on the goals and principles of the UN Charter and other fundamental norms of international law.
🇷🇺 The Russian Federation, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, is ready for mutually respectful cooperation with the new non-permanent members in maintaining international peace and security. We are convinced that this would meet the interests of the entire international community.

⚓️ On June 5-8, 2023 Russian Navy ships took part in Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2023 «Partnership to Recover and to Rise Stronger» off coast of Makassar, Indonesia.
🇷🇺 A detachment of the Pacific Fleet ships comprising the corvettes «Gromky» and «Sovershenny» as well as the medium sea tanker «Pechenga»took part in the Exercise. Russian sailors also participated in the marine parade.
◽️ The joint activities were focused on developing maritime regional interaction, including carrying out humanitarian missions and providing assistance during natural disasters.

🗓On June 14, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko 🇷🇺 participated in the ASEAN Regional Forum Senior Officials' Meeting (#ARF SOM) held online under Indonesian Chairmanship 🇮🇩.
🔹Senior officials discussed the progress achieved so far and issues related to preparation for the upcoming ARF Foreign Ministers' Meeting in July in Jakarta, Indonesia 🇮🇩.
🇷🇺 As part of the exchange of views on topical issues in the Asia-Pacific, Russian delegation voiced its approach towards the military-political risks associated with building up a network of minilateral blocs in the region and bringing NATO potential to the East Asia.
☝️ Russia reiterated its position on the maintaining and strengthening the central role of #ASEAN in regional affairs based on ASEAN-led platforms of multilateral cooperation.

The celebration was attended by esteemed representatives of the Indonesian government, socio-political, business, academic, creative and religious circles, compatriots, journalists, as well as foreign diplomats.
🎙️Welcoming remarks at the function were delivered by H.E. Mrs Lyudmila Vorobyeva, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Indonesia (read in full), H.E. Mr Evgeny Zagaynov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to ASEAN, and H.E. Mr Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, as the Guest of Honour.

We are celebrating the unity and the strength of our country which is one of the main players on the global arena and whose people is looking into the future with confidence and pride.

🎵 The cultural programme of the event included works of great Russian composers P.I.Tchaikovsky and S.V.Rachmaninov played by graduates of Russian musical universities, as well as pieces by local dance ensembles and musicians. The Indonesian song "Rayuan Pulau Kelapa" performed in two languages — Russian and Indonesian — took a special place in the programme of the evening.
📸 The Embassy also organised an art exhibition of Russian landscapes which allowed guests to experience the authentic character of our Motherland and to enjoy picturesque views from various parts of Russia.
