๐ June 2, 2023, marks 4๏ธโฃ7๏ธโฃ years since the day our country established diplomatic relations with the Republic of the Philippines. It is on this day in 1976 that our two countries formalised their relations during the visit by President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos to Moscow.
๐ท๐บ๐ต๐ญ Today, our two nations maintain friendly relations and the Philippines is one of Russiaโs key partners in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Russia and the Philippines have been proactive in strengthening their political dialogue. President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte paid official visits to Russia in 2017 and 2019. In 2017 and 2018, Russia hosted Sergey Lavrovโs talks with Foreign Minister of the Philippines Alan Cayetano.
The two countriesโ parliaments, ministries and agencies have been effective in working together. There is also a mechanism for holding foreign ministry-level consultations, as well as a Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
๐ค Russia and the Philippines have a wealth of experience in constructive bilateral cooperation across a variety of sectors. Our two countries have been working closely together and fruitfully in the United Nations, as well as within APRโs integration associations.
๐ There has been positive momentum in stepping up trade and economic cooperation too. Annual trade between our two countries has amounted to about $1 billion for several years now.
The effort to expand humanitarian ties carries on. The Philippines has already hosted several major cultural and business events in 2023.
In 2013, the Philippines introduced visa-free travel for Russian nationals staying in the country for up to 30 days.
๐ท๐บ๐ต๐ญ ๐ค We wholeheartedly congratulate our colleagues and friends in the Philippines on this anniversary, and are certain that Russia and the Philippines will keep generating positive momentum for further strengthening our relations.

Russian Embassy in Singapore:
๐On 1 June 1968, Russia and Singapore established diplomatic relations. Here is a brief overview of our bilateral relations that witnessed some notable milestones.
๐ท๐บ๐ธ๐ฌThe history of Russia-Singapore ties goes back to the 19th century. Many Russian navigators and people of art visited Singapore in the past. In summer 1841, the naval transport "Abo" under the command of lieutenant commander Andrey Yunker visited the then free port.
โ๏ธ In his popular book "Frigate "Pallada", famous Russian writer Ivan Goncharov vividly depicted the adventures of the marine expedition under the flag of the Rear Admiral Yevfimy Putyatin from Kronstadt via Singapore to Japan.
๐Russian writer and traveler Aleksey Vysheslavtsev portrayed Singapore in his "Essays Written with a Feather and a Pencil from the Round-the World Voyage in 1857, 1858, 1859 and 1860", which were based on his impressions.
๐คดOn 27 March 1890, the Russian Consulate whose head became Artemiy Vyvodtsev, was opened in Singapore. The following year, it was visited by Crown Prince Nikolay Aleksandrovich - future Emperor Nikolay II - during his "Eastern voyage".
๐คThe signing of the Trade Agreement between the USSR and Singapore on 2 April 1966 also became the milestone in building ties between the two countries.

๐บ๐ณ On June 6, members of the UN General Assembly elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2024-2025.
Following the vote, Algeria ๐ฉ๐ฟ, Guyana ๐ฌ๐พ, the Republic of Korea ๐ฐ๐ท, Sierra Leone ๐ธ๐ฑ and Slovenia ๐ธ๐ฎ will sit on the UN Security Council during the upcoming period.
We hope that during their work at this key body of the UN system the newly elected members will facilitate the long-term resolution of the most important crises of our time, help strengthen the central coordinating role of the UN in global affairs, as well as make the Organisation more effective, and contribute to the formation of a truly equitable multipolar world order based on the goals and principles of the UN Charter and other fundamental norms of international law.
๐ท๐บ The Russian Federation, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, is ready for mutually respectful cooperation with the new non-permanent members in maintaining international peace and security. We are convinced that this would meet the interests of the entire international community.
