Hey there. To those who were asking for more info about me (economics mentor), lemme introduce myself through this long post.
It started with me being lucky. I feel like I am very gifted that my parents chose to give a great focus on my English skills when I was in my 2nd year by "putting" me in the extra lessons. There I met the most precious teacher, Susanna opa, who was giving 1-on-1 lessons (for a discounted price, btw). I wouldn't be where I am without those classes, tbh.
Then in 5th grade, I got into the lyceum in Kitab, where I built the cornerstone of my math skills. From 5th to 7th grades, maths and English were my favourites and probably the only subjects I was good at.
In 7th grade, I saw a post about the Presidential School on my dad's computer, and as I told my parents about it, they were very into me applying there. As we discussed it further, we came to understand that preparation in Kitab might not be enough. The only option was to go to Karshi at 13 y.o. to my relatives' house.
My parents were actually leaning towards not letting me go, concerned about my safety there on my own. And at this moment, Susanna opa, to whom I was still a student, decided to talk to my parents about it. My biggest thanks to her โ she managed to convince them that it was my one and only chance to get where I belonged.
So, after 4 months of preparation, I got into Karshi Presidential School. Studying the subjects in English, trying to understand the concepts, and getting used to a new environment, new people, and the new system overall. It was less stressful than my parents thought it would be.
Students were like-minded in many ways, trying to build their future, having big dreams, and trying to get something more than what is usually offered in Uzb. As time passed, PS felt like more of a home than my actual home. We were a family in there, and I think we still are.
In 9th grade, I had my first experience with econ in the school-level test of the Olympiad, where Uktam ustoz pulled the almost AS-level hard questions at that time. There, I was lucky to qualify in 3rd place.
Then came the regional stage of the Olympiad, where I qualified for my first ever national stage. Although I couldn't get into the top 5, I got to see the ones who could, who, as they said, went through a certain path of learning to get where they were. That was my main motivation to try harder the next year.
In 10th grade, I was voted by students as the President of the School and the head of the Students' Union Council. Assisting the students in their daily life, trying to make their time more interesting, organizing various tournaments both within the school and inviting other schools to Karshi.
The excited faces during events were always worth the time and energy I spent on making the school a better place.
Later that year, I got great academic assistance from Uktam ustoz and was able to qualify for the national stage of the Olympiad once more.
After the MCQ and the open questions part of the Olympiad, I qualified for the top 10, who were then given the task to build a Business Case presentation for 30 mins.
To be honest, it was my first and worst business case experience so far. They made us make a presentation on the solution for the problem of a school cafe.
Time to brag: I got the highest score (23.4/25) and qualified to the international stage of the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2024.
In the international stage in Hong Kong, I met and had a great time with amazing people from over 50 countries, played basketball on a rainy day, watched Uzb vs Spain football game with the guys from Spain, explored the nightlife of the city on my own, and got the first bronze medal in the history of Uzbekistan.

It was followed by Higher School of Economics (HSE) offering me a full-tuition scholarship just a week later. Of course, I accepted it.
In August that year, I participated in the international stage of the "Economics Fundamentals Initiatives" Economics Olympiad (EFI EO) in Athens, Greece. In general, I had a fun time in the city (I was offered marijuana) and during the olympiad. Once again, I got a bronze medal.
After graduating from high school, I went to the HSE, where maths is highly focused, and I actually have a math course even now. Meeting here new people, getting used to the their toxicity, and having to live on my own for the first time was a nightmare. But at the same time, I was excited to plan my day and sometimes weigh the opportunity cost of skipping a lecture. I never had a chance to do that before. My day was planned for me: when I wake up, when I get to study, it was all in a timeline others decided. And I always had to face immediate consequences of skipping the lesson without being sick.
Later in May, I was contacted by the Fan Olimpiadalari Markazi. They offered me a position I couldnt reject - being the Team Leader and the national representative in the International Economics Olympiad. After conducting the national stage of the IEO 2026, we formed a team of 5 very capable and smart students. For the next 2 months, we intensively prepared for the olympiad: analysed the past business cases of other countries' national cases, went through past papers, and revised all topics.
In July 2026, I flew to China once more, but this time as a Team Leader (TL) of the olympiad. The same process of enjoying the time with new people, but "people" were mainly leaders of other teams. Our months of preparations paid off, and we flew back with 2 of our students getting medals. When they were receiving the medals, I got to experience the same proud feeling I had back in 2024.
In August, Asror ustoz came up with a brilliant idea of me sharing my knowledge and experience with students who feel passionate about economics, want to apply to foreign universities, but lack a certain direction or who might just need a hand in doing so. Yh, I agreed to join.
If you feel like you want to go for international economics olympiads and getting into foreign universities, feel free join the webinar on October 6th.
