Crans-Montana is located in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, situated in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It is a municipality formed from the merger of several smaller municipalities, including Crans and Montana.

Police say an explosion ripped through a bar called La Constellation in the luxury Alpine ski resort town.

“There has been an explosion of unknown origin,”

Gaetan Lathion, a police spokesperson in Wallis canton in southwestern Switzerland, told AFP.

“There are several injured, and several dead.”
