Israel and the Trump administration are on a collision course regarding Saudi Arabia and its demands for joining the Abraham Accords. The sale of F-35 aircraft and recognition of a Palestinian state are red lines - one less severe than the other, but neither acceptable.

Israel is the only country in the world permitted to add new features to the American stealth fighter, but this comes in exchange for sharing the data with the manufacturer.

As for recognizing a Palestinian state after the October 7 massacre - that would be a reward for terrorism and is completely unacceptable to an overwhelming majority of the Israeli public.
