Those of you who haven’t been closely following Hebrew media may have missed the biggest story dominating Israel today. Here's a quick breakdown of how it all unfolded:

It began with an investigation into the alleged abuse of a Hamas terrorist detained at an IDF facility at the start of the war. An edited and biased video of the alleged abuse was quickly leaked to Israeli television and spread worldwide, accompanied by accusations that Israeli soldiers were “raping Palestinian prisoners.” (Side note: this is far from the truth, but the story goes much deeper.)

A public outcry led to a formal investigation by the IDF’s deputy advocate general. His findings? He claimed there was “no possible way” to identify the source of the leak, and that the video “did not pose a danger to the State of Israel” despite the enormous damage it caused to Israel’s image and the surge in antisemitism globally.

This conclusion was defended before the Supreme Court and in the Knesset, and even backed by Israel's attorney general, who rebuked critics for questioning how the advocate general’s office could investigate its own case, asking, “How dare you question the professionalism of the investigation?”

The story then vanished from headlines for over a year while the criminal case against the soldiers continued. Then, a routine polygraph test given to an officer serving as the advocate general’s spokeswoman blew the lid off the entire affair.

It turns out that not only was the advocate general herself behind the leak, but she also appointed her own deputy to “investigate” it, conveniently finding no evidence whatsoever. She misled the court, the Knesset, and the public about the entire process.

Worse, it has now emerged that there was a secret WhatsApp group of at least nine IDF officers from her department who all knew the truth about the leak and the cover-up, and chose to remain silent.

Yesterday, Israel’s justice minister informed the attorney general that she is barred from overseeing the case, since she was complicit in the cover-up and obstructed the investigation.

You honestly couldn’t make this up. Those who support the government’s judicial reform now point to this case as the clearest example yet of how deeply entrenched the “deep state” is in Israel’s institutions.

And I will add:

What does the Military Advocate General have on her phone that she would allegedly stage a suicide attempt just to make it disappear?

The United States distributed to several members of the UN Security Council on Monday a draft resolution calling for the establishment of an international force in the Gaza Strip for a period of no less than two years, according to a copy of the draft described as "sensitive but not secret."

Importance of the Step:
The draft resolution, if adopted, would grant the United States and a number of participating countries broad authorization to manage the sector and provide security in it until the end of 2027, with the possibility of extending the mission later.

Details of the Draft:

The resolution aims to reach a vote in the Security Council in the coming weeks as a prelude to deploying the first forces in Gaza by next January, according to a U.S. official.
The official emphasized that the proposed force, named the "International Security Force" (ISF), would be an "executive force, not a peacekeeping one."

The force will include units from several countries and will be established in coordination with the "Peace Council," which U.S. President Donald Trump announced he would chair.
The draft stipulates that the Peace Council will remain in place until at least the end of 2027.

Tasks and Authorization:
The international force will be tasked with securing Gaza's borders with Israel and Egypt, protecting civilians and humanitarian corridors, and training a new Palestinian police force to collaborate with it in carrying out the tasks. The document also stipulates that the force will work on "stabilizing the security situation in Gaza through disarmament and destruction of the military and offensive infrastructure of non-governmental armed groups, and preventing its reconstruction." It is understood from this that the force's mandate includes disarming Hamas if it or its factions do not do so voluntarily. The draft adds that the force may take on "additional tasks as needed to support the Gaza agreement."

Transitional Phase:
The international force is scheduled to secure the sector during a transitional period in which Israel gradually withdraws from more areas in Gaza, while the Palestinian Authority conducts reforms enabling it to take over management of the sector in the long term. According to previous reports, countries including Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Turkey have expressed readiness to contribute troops to the operation.

Leadership and Coordination Mechanism:
The force will be deployed under "unified leadership agreed upon by the Peace Council," with its operations "implemented in consultation and close cooperation with Egypt and Israel." The draft grants it authority to "use all necessary means to carry out its mandate in accordance with international law, including international humanitarian law."

Management of Gaza and Reconstruction:
The draft also calls for empowering the Peace Council to act as a "transitional governance authority" that sets priorities and coordinates funding for Gaza's reconstruction, until the Palestinian Authority completes the required reform program and obtains the Council's approval. The Council will oversee a "non-political Palestinian technocratic committee composed of sector residents, which will manage daily affairs and civil services." The U.S. official clarified that the Peace Council will begin its work before the technocratic committee is formed. The draft further stipulates that aid will be provided through organizations cooperating with the Peace Council, including the United Nations, the Red Cross, and the Red Crescent, with a ban on any entity proven to have misused aid or diverted it from its path.

🇮🇱 The IDF Has Uncovered a Compound Containing Hamas Launchers & Rockets — Footage from IDF Activity Around the Yellow Line

IDF soldiers from the 11th and 188th Brigade, under the command of the 252nd Division, are conducting activities in northern Gaza, east of the Yellow Line, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and the directives of the political echelon.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, IDF soldiers from the 11th Brigade identified a compound containing launchers, rockets, and launch positions belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the center of the Shejaiya area in northern Gaza.

An underground tunnel route spanning hundreds of meters long and tens of meters deep was located in the Jabaliya area and dismantled by soldiers from the 188th Brigade, together with Yahalom soldiers. The route was used by Hamas terrorists for prolonged stays and for organizing terrorist activities against IDF troops.

🇺🇸 🇱🇧 🇮🇱 Reports Indicate That the U.S. Has Given Lebanon a Deadline Until the End of the Month to Disarm Hezbollah or Face the Consequences of a Broad Israeli Strike

SIDE NOTE: In a classified briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, IDF intelligence officers warned that Hezbollah is rebuilding its military strength faster than Israeli strikes can curb it. They said the effects of Israel’s 2023–2024 campaign are fading, allowing Hezbollah to restore infrastructure, smuggle weapons through Syria and by sea, and produce arms north of the Litani River while retaining a vast rocket and missile arsenal.
