The Ministry of Defense, the IDF, & Israel Aerospace Industries successfully launched the 'Ofek 19' satellite into space.

The Space Directorate at MAFAT (the Administration for Research, Development of Weapons & Technological Infrastructure) in the Ministry of Defense, the IDF, & Israel Aerospace Industries successfully launched last night at 22:30 the 'Ofek 19' satellite into space. The launch was carried out using a "Shavit" satellite launcher from a test field in the center of the country.

It is an advanced reconnaissance satellite with advanced capabilities. It can capture images of objects as small as 50 centimeters, day or night.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said the launch is a direct message to enemies:

“We are watching you anytime, anywhere.”

Upon entering orbit around the Earth, the satellite will undergo a series of tests intended to verify its functionality & performance level.
