Israel will provide urgent humanitarian aid to South Sudan

In light of the severe humanitarian crisis in South Sudan, under the guidance of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Mashav - Israel's national aid agency at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - will provide urgent humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations in the country.

South Sudan is currently struggling with a cholera outbreak while facing a severe shortage of resources.
The aid will include essential medical equipment for treating patients, water purification means, gloves and face masks, as well as special hygiene kits to prevent cholera. Additionally, food packages will be supplied.
In the aid operation, Mashav will cooperate with "IsraAID," an Israeli non-governmental organization operating in the country.

Recently, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar hosted South Sudan's Foreign Minister Monday Semaya Kumba in Jerusalem and discussed with him the worsening humanitarian crisis in South Sudan, exacerbated by refugees arriving due to the war in Sudan.

"Israel stands by its friends in their difficult times," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
