Emergency services say that a vehicle drove into a bus stop along the highway, close to the entrance of Kfar Yona.

● The terrorist escaped and the police used a helicopter to locate the vehicle.

● Magen David Adom medical teams are treating people for varying degrees of injury, 2 people were brought to the hospital.

IDF: The injured in the ramming attack are soldiers. Two in moderate condition and 6 more lightly injured.

● The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was found in a nearby field, the driver fled on foot.

● The chase for the driver: Police checkpoints were set up in the area, and the crossings to Judea and Samaria have been blocked.

In reality, Hamas never wanted to make a ceasefire deal. Releasing the hostages would mean they have no more leverage.

"I wish to update you on what we did in Syria, and what we will do in Syria.
We established a clear policy: the demilitarization of the area south of Damascus, from the Golan to the Druze Mountain region, is one line. The second line - protecting our brothers, the Druze in the Druze Mountain.

Both of these things were violated by the Damascus regime. It sent troops south of Damascus, into the area that was supposed to be demilitarized, and it began slaughtering the Druze. We could not accept that in any way.

Therefore, I instructed the IDF to act - and to act forcefully. The Air Force attacked both the murder gangs and the RPGs. I also added a target in Damascus to attack the Ministry of Defense.

As a result of this intense operation, a ceasefire was achieved, and Syrian forces retreated back to Damascus. This is important.

This is a ceasefire achieved through strength. Not through requests, not through pleas - through strength. We achieve peace through strength, quiet through strength, security through strength - on seven fronts.

This will also be the continuation of our policy - we will not allow army forces to descend south of Damascus, we will not allow the Druze in Jabal Druze to be harmed.

I want to share something that deeply moved me in the last two days. Sheikh Muafaq Tarif, the leader of the Druze in Israel, approached me.

He told me the following: 'During the Holocaust, when you Jews were slaughtered, you cried for help, and no one came. Today, we Druze are being slaughtered, and we are calling for the help of the State of Israel.'

And I said - he is right.
We acted, and will continue to act as needed."

🇸🇾 The Sunnis Understand That They Lost in Southern Syria and Express Criticism Towards the Conduct of the Syrian Regime

Dr. Wael Al-Sheikh Amin, a Syrian (Sunni) journalist and writer living in Istanbul, writes about the escape of Syrian regime forces from As-Suwayda:

"We fully understand the fact that the Syrian government concluded that it is losing the battle in As-Suwayda and that this could lead to a full-scale war that would destroy what remains of Syria, and therefore chose to leave As-Suwayda and leave the militias (the Druze - editor's note) there because this was the preferred option. This is completely understandable.

What is not understandable is that now the gangs of criminals are taking revenge on our people there (the Druze are taking revenge on the Bedouins - editor's note).

The question the Syrian government must answer is: why did you not ensure the security of our people (the Bedouins - editor's note) before you left As-Suwayda?
Why did you not ensure their security, why did you not evacuate them from there, or at least why did you not inform them that regime forces were leaving?

The government bears responsibility for the massacre that happened today (the Druze's revenge on the Bedouins - editor's note).

How can what is happening there be stopped quickly now?
We hope it will not take long."

Dr. Amin is not alone. Other Sunnis in Syria understand that the Syrian regime they support fled from As-Suwayda. They do not claim victory (unlike others on other fronts). There is an understanding that the regime has retreated.

From Israel's perspective, this is an important understanding that has permeated among them, ahead of shaping relations in southern Syria in the future.
