Make no mistake, these fires are acts of arson committed byPalestinians Muslims. The police confirmed this several days ago when the fires began.
The rekindling of the fires today is due to extremely hot and dry weather combined with strong winds.
The winds are exhibiting unusual behavior. In many parts of the country, winds are blowing in different directions (as shown in the video above).
From southern Lebanon through Haifa to Jerusalem- extremely strong winds of up to 110 km/h are expected tonight! This is a super unusual event!
SIDE NOTE: All public Independence Day (77 Years) events are canceled across Israel due to the highest alert level for extreme weather conditions and the risk of arsonists setting fires in multiple locations!

Places like Shoresh and Yad Hashmona received evacuation orders. Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered every available piece of heavy equipment to be brought to the area to block the way of the fire.
In videos 2 and 3 you can see the C-140 in action trying to put out the fires. Most aircrafts can’t fly in these windy weather conditions.
Nearly 5000 acres of mostly forested land was burned so far, west of Jerusalem.
