Scenes from Shahid Rajaee Port, Iran's largest commercial port & 2nd largest container port in the region show catastrophic widespread damage & fires.
🔴 70 dead, 1,205 injured per Iran's Interior Minister.
🔴 The explosion occurred in 2 stages, the moment ammonium nitrate ignited & thus exploded, & as Iran's reformist outlet, Student News Network, reported several explosions followed the initial explosion indicating missile fuel was likely present at the site which was setting off. The NYT says the explosion was caused by sodium perchlorate, a chemical often used in rocket propellants & explosives.

Witnesses at the scene state that he appears to be a 20-year-old Asian male & possibly mentally challenged in some way.
STEVE'S TAKE: Whether this guy was Muslim or not or mentally challenged or not, one thing that stood out to me about the video is that he said he was sorry. If this is truly the driver, then that makes me think he isn't a Muslim, because Muslims wouldn't say they were sorry because they aren't sorry because they do these things on purpose. But honestly, this whole thing sounds fishy to me. Something doesn't add up. My gut is still telling me there's some kind of connection to Islam. Maybe he's a mentally challenged Asian Muslim.
