The death toll from Myanmar's devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake has surpassed 1,000 as the U.S. Geological Survey warns there is a "strong possibility" of over 10,000 casualties and economic loss exceeding the country's gross domestic product.
UPDATE: Number of casualties in the earthquake in Myanmar: 1,002 dead and 2,376 injured.
