The IDF and ISA Eliminated the Head of Hamas' Military Intelligence in Southern Gaza

Yesterday (Thursday), the IDF and ISA conducted an intelligence-based strike and eliminated the terrorist Osama Tabash, who served as the head of Hamas' Military Intelligence in southern Gaza and as the head of Hamas' Surveillance and Targeting Unit.

Tabash was a senior Hamas terrorist and was a significant source of operational knowledge for the terrorist organization and held various senior positions in Hamas, including a battalion commander in the Khan Yunis Brigade. Over the years, he was involved in terrorist activities and directing attacks, including a suicide bombing carried out in 2005 at the Gush Katif junction in the Gaza Strip, in which ISA coordinator Oded Sharon was killed.
As part of his last role, Tabash was responsible for formulating Hamas' combat strategy on the ground, including coordinating the intelligence of Hamas' military wing in southern Gaza and leading their activities in the area. Additionally, over the past year, he was involved in Hamas' force-building efforts and worked to rebuild its military capabilities following the damage it sustained during the war.

The Surveillance and Targeting Unit, which he led, is responsible for collecting visual intelligence to generate targets for the Hamas terrorist organization in Israeli territory and the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, as part of his role, he was responsible for planning and coordinating targets and infiltration objectives during the October 7th Massacre carried out by the terrorist organization on Israeli communities in southern Israel.

Throughout the war, he also led Hamas' Surveillance Unit, which gathered intelligence and monitored IDF operations, directed attacks at IDF troops, and played a key role in shaping Hamas' perception of the IDF and its activities.

His elimination impairs Hamas' intelligence-gathering capabilities and its attempts to harm IDF troops operating in the area.

🇱🇧 🇮🇱 3 Rockets Fired from Lebanon at Metula, in First Attack Since December; IDF Says It Struck Dozens of Hezbollah Launchers, Command Center After Rocket Fire

The truth is: 5 rockets were launched into Israeli territory, not 3. Only 3 of them crossed into Israeli territory and 2 fell in Lebanese territory.

According to the IDF, all three rockets were intercepted by air defenses. There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Defense Minister Israel Katz following the firing from Lebanon towards Israel:

We will not allow the reality of firing from Lebanon on the Galilee communities. We promised security to the Galilee communities - and that is exactly what will happen. The law of Metula is the same as the law of Beirut. The Lebanese government bears responsibility for any firing from its territory.

I have instructed the IDF to respond accordingly.

IDF: The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, conducted a situational assessment following the rocket fire from Lebanon this morning. The IDF will respond severely to the morning's attack. The State of Lebanon bears responsibility for upholding the agreement.

There are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines.

In response to the rockets launched from southern Lebanon - IDF is firing artillery shells.

There have been Israeli airstrikes on Yahmur al-Shaqif & also in the Jazzine region in southern Lebanon.

The IDF says it carried out airstrikes on dozens of Hezbollah rocket launchers and a command center used by the terror group in Lebanon, in response to this morning’s rocket attack on Metula.
