🇹🇷 Turkey: Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, Erdogan's Biggest Political Opponent, Was Arrested This Morning as Part of an Investigation Into His Case

The moment of the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, suspected of stealing $7 billion. The Turks see that as a political witch hunt as this popular mayor is Erdogan bitter rival & the crackdown occurred just days before İmamoğlu was slated to be nominated as the presidential candidate for the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).

Meanwhile, in Istanbul, millions were out demanding Erdogan to step down last night despite public demonstrations being prohibited after arresting Istanbul's mayor.

Erdoğan’s revenge has begun!

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that Turkish police have launched a wide-ranging operation to arrest citizens who shared content on social media about Ekrem Imamoglu, the mayor of Istanbul who was arrested this week in what appears to be an attempted political assassination. Yerlikaya announced that at least 54 people have been arrested and an attempt is being made to capture hundreds more.

STEVE'S TAKE: Democrats are annoying. As Schumer said, it's only at the lower levels right now. These activist judges are just obstructionists. At the end of the day, we still control the SUPREME Court because Trump had put mostly-conservative judges in during his last term to make sure that would be the case. So, we have the final say at the end of the day.
