The President of Colombia ordered to stop the export of coal to Israel

After already threatening to do so several months ago, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, signed an order banning the export of coal to Israel, according to the Bloomberg network.

Colombia is considered the main supplier of coal to Israel, responsible for about 30% of the consumption.

What You Need to Know About the Six Constitutional *Amendments on Florida’s 2024 Ballot

This year, Florida voters aren’t just deciding who they want to be president. In November, they’re also choosing whether to amend the state constitution to protect their own property tax bills from inflation, stop candidates from receiving public money for political campaigns & legalize marijuana. In all, 6 ballot initiatives will be presented to voters, each needing 60% support to pass. Here’s a look at all 6 Amendments.

Amendments 1-6

1. SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS - Amendment 1 proposes that the state bring back partisan school board elections on or after November 2026. (Yes)

MY TAKE ON 1: Making school board members run WITH party labels next to their names is a no-brainer since schools have become a political battleground especially in Florida. A yes vote on this creates more crucial transparency for voters to be able to know what they're voting for to protect the education system from the WOKE lefties.

2. HUNTING & FISHING - Amendment 2 would establish hunting & fishing as a state constitutional right for Floridians. (Yes)

MY TAKE ON 2: Hunter, Fisher, Gatherer... It's what God made us & it absolutely should be a God-given, Constitution protected inalienable right. I'm all for a yes vote on this to further protect residents’ ability to fish & hunt from groups or movements seeking to restrict those activities.

3. RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA - Amendment 3 would open up the medical marijuana marketplace in Florida by allowing adults older than 21 to purchase & consume cannabis products without a doctor’s recommendation. (No)

MY TAKE ON 3: This is a tough one. If alcohol & cigarettes are legal for recreational use, then why not marijuana? That's what most people'd say. You can argue that all 3 should be illegal, & you'd be Biblically & morally correct in doing so since none are Godly lifestyle choices. There's no denying that. Your body is a temple unto God. However, people do have free will & with that should come the right to choose to recreationally use marijuana or not without having their lives ruined. Far too many people have fallen victim to this for possessing & smoking weed & many of them aren't bad people. So, setting them down that path for a minor offense that's probably even less harmful than cigarettes & alcohol is unfair. So, if your stance is to legalize it, then I do understand where you're coming from. But keep in mind, IF it's going to get legalized, then it should be done right & not be benefiting only a single corporate government profiteering entity.

4. ABORTION - Amendment 4 would protect abortion access in the state of Florida. (No)

MY TAKE ON 4: Voting No on this is a must. In no way, shape or form do I want to overturn DeSantis' 6-week abortion ban from last year. This Amendment allows abortion "until birth". Abortion is MURDER!

5. PROPERTY TAXES - Amendment 5 could give homeowners more savings on their property taxes by adjusting one of the state’s homestead exemptions for inflation. (Yes)

MY TAKE ON 5: Voting yes on this one to adjust the second of the two $25,000 homestead exemptions to account for inflation.

6. CAMPAIGN MONEY - Amendment 6 attempts to repeal public campaign financing. (No)

MY TAKE ON 6: Although voting yes, would save taxpayers millions, I believe this money should be available to candidates from the public so that if a little guy runs he can have a shot at winning the race. I think the true discussion should center around what the cap amount should be.

SIDE NOTE: *Amendment questions are written so voting 'yes' means to change the Constitution or Charter, while voting 'no' means to not change it.

If any of these questions passes, then that change would be implemented 6 months after being voted on.
