Back in 2003, Joe Biden warned a Senate Foreign Relations Committee - with Afghanistan’s then-President Hamid Karzai present - of the dire consequences of ABANDONING nation-building.

“In some parts of the administration “nation building” is still a dirty phrase, but the alternative to nation-building is CHAOS - a chaos that shurns blood-thirsty warlords, drug traffickers and terrorists. We have seen it happen in Afghanistan before, and I am quite fearful it may happen again. Warlords, drugs, terrorists; the connection is clear as a bell.”

Skip forward to yesterday: “Our mission in Afghanistan was never supposed to have been nation building. It was never supposed to be creating a unified, centralized democracy.”

Should POTUS be paying more attention to Sen. Biden?
