The United States has asked the Iraqi government to close its airspace to Iranian cargo planes heading to Syria and Lebanon. Washington believes that Tehran has stepped up the transfer of weapons in the interests of Hezbollah through Beirut and the border with Syria.

The White House is now extremely concerned about the likelihood of a full-scale conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which is actively supported by Iran. It is no coincidence that the permanent representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN warned the world community that “a destructive war will begin if Israel launches a comprehensive attack on Lebanon.”

The White House still hopes to resolve the military confrontation that has not yet begun.
