IDF operation in Rafah: IDF forces from Division 162 have already reached the depths of Rafah - and are now in the neighborhood of Brazil. The forces advanced several more kilometers beyond the Rafah crossing, and have already captured about two-thirds of the Philadelphi axis, which they now hold.
According to the IDF's estimate, about 950,000 Palestinians have already evacuated from the IDF's combat zone in Rafah. It is estimated that there are about 300-400 thousand Palestinians left in Rafah who have not yet evacuated from the area, and they are now concentrated in the West Rafah area, where the IDF has not yet fought.
New details about the IDF and Shin Bet operation to recover the bodies of the four Israeli abductees were allowed to be published :
The bodies were retrieved from an underground compound in the Jabaliya refugee camp. This is an underground complex that the IDF has not yet reached in a maneuver, and was used by Hamas as a command and control site that the organization tried to restore and bring command, communication, and telephony capabilities there from other places that were destroyed. The bodies were found hidden inside the compound. There was no fighting against terrorists underground, but there were many clashes and friction in the above ground area. Troops from the Arrow Company of the 202nd Paratrooper Battalion located the shaft in accordance with intelligence information and were the ones who led the operation, after the company commander (Major Gal Shabat) was mortally wounded in battle, and five of the company's fighters were killed in a two-sided shooting incident.
Inside the tunnel where the bodies of the abductees were found, a powerful bomb was found that Hamas apparently planned to detonate on the forces that would arrive at the tunnel.
